49th Independence Day National Parade

The Commander-in-Chief of the Seychelles Defence Forces, President Wavel Ramkalawan, attended the 2025 National Day Parade held in the heart of Victoria, as part of Independence Day Celebration activities.

This year’s parade featured platoons comprising of dedicated men and women from various units within the Seychelles Defence Forces, other security services, and youth organizations.

The parade was commanded by Major Ivel Ernesta, who led the procession with precision and excellence.

The parade also saw the participation of international military contingents from France, India, Mauritius, United Arab Emirates and, the United States of America.

For the first time in the history of the National Day Parade, a special platoon made up of the Dog Unit was featured, drawing great attention and appreciation from the public.

The Seychelles National Brass Band, under the direction of Band Master Nilsen Ernest and Band Major Brian Larue, performed alongside the Indian Naval Band, bringing an exceptional musical atmosphere to the event. An additional band from the United Arab Emirates also took part, delivering a special performance to mark the occasion.

This year’s parade was a powerful reflection of national pride, discipline, and unity, celebrating the strength and diversity of Seychelles and its defence partners.
