SEYCHELLES RED CROSS SOCIETY AND SEYCHELLES DEFENCE FORCES RECEIVE DONATION FROM PRIVATE SECTOR.
Since the recent appeal for humanitarian aid for Madagascar was launched, donations have been coming in from individuals as well as businesses.
This week, RCSS and SDF were hosted at the head office of the JHL Group (PTY)/Amirante Fisheries, situated in Providence, for yet another significant donation.
The company’s executive director, Mr James Lesperance and the company director, Ms. Jade Lesperance pledged to donate 5 tonnes of fish towards the assistance being collected for Madagascar. The donation was done in the presence of SDF CoS, Col Michael Hollanda, and the RCSS Secretary General, Mrs. Marie-May Esparon. Present at the ceremony were members from both SDF and RCSS.

In addition, the Sodepac company provided mattresses, water, and lemonade, all of which will be used for the relief effort.

On behalf of the SDF, the force Chaplain, Lt Col Louis Agathine thanked the sponsors for their generosity.
SDF vessel Saya de Malha, who will be transporting the aid to Madagascar, is equipped with cold storage on board where all the fish will be kept without the risk of it going bad.
