Seychelles Coast Guard Personnel Complete Basic First Aid Training
Personnel from the Seychelles Coast Guard (SCG), including officers and other ranks, successfully completed a three-day Basic First Aid Training course held from Wednesday 14th to Thursday 16th October 2025 at the Military Training and Support Centre (MTSC).
The training was facilitated by Lieutenant Sandy Ernesta (Senior Nursing Officer) and Corporal Barrack Aaron (Senior Staff Nurse), both from the Military Medical Centre (MMC). The sessions were also observed by Ms. Karine Ernesta from the Red Cross Society of Seychelles, who brought valuable insight into civilian emergency response procedures.
The aim of the training was to equip participants with essential first aid skills, enabling them to respond effectively to medical emergencies in both operational and non-operational environments. The course covered a wide range of topics including Secondary Survey, Circulation and Respiratory System, Wound management, Electrical Burns, Bones and Muscle injuries.
This training forms part of the Seychelles Coast Guard’s ongoing commitment to enhance the preparedness and resilience of its service personnel.
All participants demonstrated a high level of engagement and professionalism which was visible during their practical session prior to their exam.
